New Congress, New Bill to Ban Horse Slaughter

As the 117th Congress begins its arduous work on behalf of the entire country we are working diligently with our allies to draft legislation for both the House and Senate that would permanently ban horse slaughter. Over the past two decades our bill has morphed and taken different legislative routes in an effort to find the fastest path to passage into law. Regardless of the version before Congress in past years, our end goal has never wavered – to end the brutal and needless slaughter of America’s majestic horses.

This Congress will be no different and we expect to have like bills introduced in both the House and Senate soon. With the facts on our side and the hearts of Americans like yours beside us we know our legislation will quickly gain enormous Congressional support. It is high time that our wonderful horses - who are not raised as livestock but as working or companion animals - are spared the ugly exploits of the foreign based horse slaughter industry. Our horses should never end up on the plates of fine diners in Europe, Asia and further abroad.

Our horses deserve better than what they’re getting right now. That’s why we must use the facts to sway Congress to pass a law banning the slaughter of American both here and abroad, for good. For that to happen we need your help garnering Congressional support. As a constituent you can have a marked impact on this process.

That’s why on Monday, January 25th you are invited to a nationwide advocacy Zoom call to discuss next steps. As we progress towards permanently banning the slaughter of American horses, we want to hear from you.
